Especially good for maths and computing for all ages but other subjects at Secondary level. Note this uses the U.S. grade system but it’s mostly common material.
- BBC Learning
This site is old and no longer updated and yet there’s so much still available, from language learning to BBC Bitesize for revision. No TV licence required except for content on BBC iPlayer.
- Futurelearn
Free to access 100s of courses, only pay to upgrade if you need a certificate in your name (own account from age 14+ but younger learners can use a parent account).
- Seneca
For those revising at GCSE or A level. Tons of free revision content. Paid access to higher level material.
- Openlearn
Free taster courses aimed at those considering Open University but everyone can access it. Adult level, but some e.g. nature and environment courses could well be of interest to young people.

This link comes from Accelerated Reader / STAR Reading which we use in school. It currently allows you free access to 1000’s of online interactive audiobooks which can be used on a phone and tablet.

- Sooper Books Bedtime Stories For Kids
Lots of free bedtime stories for kids, online story books, short stories, fairy tales, rhymes and poems. It also includes 5-min Stories, 10-min Stories and other Short Stories.
- Free Virtual Tours
A lot of museums, zoos and in general the world of IT have come together to open their gates and possibilities for us to visit the haloed places from the comforts of our home.
- Duolingo
Duolingo uses a gaming-type method to help you learn a foreign language. Mandarin Chinese is available on there as well as your common ones that pupils learn in school. It is available on the web https://www.duolingo.com and on iOS and Android.
- Art for Kids Hub Youtube Channel
Art for Kids Hub is a channel on YouTube which enables kids to draw. There are variety of things to draw from unicorns to food items and favourite cartoon characters.
- Google Virtual Museum Tours
Google Arts and Culture is the home to quite a lot of museums that offer virtual tours. The tours operate in the same way as Google Street View, since there are quite a few museums to look at it is recommended that a parent should view first to see if they are suitable for their child.
